Trentham Golf Club - Linda and Robin win club championship

The Trentham club championships for 2024 were contested over three rounds in October.

In the men's championship, Robin Wilson, playing off 1, defended his title from 2023 with rounds of 71, 71 and 73 for a 54-hole total of 215. Simon Ovenden, also off 1, was the runner-up with 222.

The other divisions of the championships went to Alan Hopkins (B Grade, 260) and James Coyle (C Grade 285). The Senior Championship was won by Martin Walker with 253.

In the women's club championship, Linda Marchesi, playing off 7, continued her run of success over the last three years with a 54-hole total of 249. Runner-up was Terri O'Callaghan on 253.

Caroline Johnston was the B Grade winner after a sudden-death playoff over Andrea Krelle, both finishing on 293. Anne Cooper was the run away winner in C Gradewith 297. Anne Roberts was runner up on 322.

Trentham Travellers

The Monday Muggers sometimes organise visits to other golf clubs, and they become known as the Trentham Travellers. They may organise day trips to nearby clubs, or 2-3 day trips to more distant locations e.g. the Murray River. The feature is good golf with friends and a welcoming social atmosphere. Monday Muggers

The Monday Muggers is a group of club members that play social golf on most Mondays throughout the year at the club. Players assemble at 8.55 am for a 9.00 am 'multi-tee' hit-off.

All members, plus friends and visitors, are welcome to play in the Stableford competition.

Bookings are in groups of 3 and should be made on the timesheet by 6.00pm on the Sunday evening. Names can be entered in any available time slot between 8.30 and 9.30, however tee-off is at 9.00 irrespective of booking time.

Members pay $5 for the barbeque. Non-members pay an additional $45 green fee.
